He also earned a Bachelor of Economics in Japan. Taku has been working in different areas such as education, tourism, migration sector, along with 15 years of experience as a marketing specialist in the food industry. He is also a Qualified Education Agent Counsellor certified by Professional International Education Resources.

Nick's profile photoNick was born and raised in Cairns. He was a school captain at Saint Mary's College, then attended the University of Queensland in Brisbane. He graduated with double degrees in Law and Arts. After completing his studies, he returned to Cairns to begin a career in law, and was admitted as a solicitor in 2008.

Nick has a longstanding interest in Japanese culture. He had studied Japanese in his spare time for several years before he decided to take a break from law to improve his language skills. He was a student in the language program at Mejiro University in Tokyo until early 2011, where he completed an advanced Japanese course.

He then returned to Australia to continue his career as a migration agent and solicitor. Having grown up in Cairns, Nick is well-connected to the local community and understands the issues affecting the region. He is focussed on giving carefully considered and easy to understand advice to his clients who are applying for visas or sponsoring a visa applicant. Nick's goal is to achieve the best possible outcome for every client.

Denise's profile photoBorn in Czech Republic, Denise migrated to Australia with her family when she was seven years old. She is fluent in the Czech language and has travelled there many times over the years.

Denise is a qualified lawyer with over six years of experience in immigration law. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from James Cook University in Townsville, followed by a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in Brisbane. She joined the team at Frank Lanza Migration Services in 2006, the same year that she was admitted to practice as an Australian Legal Practitioner. She has been a registered Migration Agent since 2007.

Denise enjoys travelling and meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. She has recently become a first time mum to her now one-year-old son.

Gaku Takashina  BEc, GradCertMigLaw, MMIA

Gaku grew up in Japan and Singapore before he came to Australia in 1992.  He is among the top graduates from two leading universities in Australia, The University of Western Australia and The Australian National University.

He has had an extensive and successful management career internationally, ranging from management of renowned golf courses, an international resort hotel and of real estate development projects.  He also worked as a Research Assistant at the UWA Economic Research Centre where he specialised in the area of Quantitative Economics Research projects in both micro and macro economics, and produced research papers published in international academic journals.

Gaku is a Cairns resident for more than 10 years and worked in the local tourism industry before turning his career into the migration consulting profession.  Gaku is passionate about helping people wishing to migrate to our wonderful country as he is also a migrant himself.  He works full-time at Frank Lanza Migration Services and also works as a part-time private tutor to help his clients study for the IELTS test with remarkable success records.


Eriko Takaya  BA

Eri's profile photoEri has been working with Frank Lanza Migration Services since 2006. Since then, she has dealt with a broad range of visas including employer sponsored, business, skilled migration, partner, family, investor retirement and student visas. She also provides accounting and administrative support.

Prior to commencing in the migration industry, Eri worked for a number of large international and national companies for over 10 years in Japan in human resources and accounting roles in the airlines, manufacturing and trading industries.

Since she migrated from Japan herself, she is passionate about helping clients who are in the same shoes and understands well their needs and circumstances. Eri has always been attracted to diverse cultures and languages. She has in fact learned other languages such as Spanish, Italian and Chinese as well as English.

Liana Hitchcock  BArch
Administrative Officer

Liana's profile photoLiana was born and educated in Makassar, Indonesia. She is a graduate Architect Engineer who migrated to Australia in 2002. She first joined the Frank Lanza Migration Services team in 2002 and she became an Australian citizen in 2009. Liana later relocated overseas to work on projects with her husband and she rejoined our team in 2011.

Liana speaks several languages including Indonesian, Makassarese, English and a number of Indonesian dialects. She is currently seeking accreditation with the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) as an interpreter. Equipped with a background and in depth appreciation of many overseas cultures, she is actively engaged in promotion of multi-cultural activities in Cairns.

She is a committee member of the Cairns Indonesian Australian Association. Her involvement with diverse cultures, including working as a volunteer, has provided Liana with an understanding of the problems encountered by those migrating to Australia and an appreciation for the type of help and information they need.

In her spare time, Liana likes to entertain her friends and family with her extensive cooking skills in various Asian cuisines. She is currently working on writing a children's book to promote international awareness in children's minds of the current heritage and conservation issues facing remote communities such as that of orangutans in Borneo where she has worked.

Yuko Oguchi  BEc

Yuko's photoYuko joined the Frank Lanza Migration Services team in 2012. She is an Economics graduate and has studied Commercial Law in Japan. Upon graduation, Yuko worked in the electronics and education industries. She worked in international marketing as well as student support at English language schools in Australia and Japan.

Yuko obtained her Australian permanent residence visa in 2005 and she is currently studying Migration Law as she plans to become a Migration Agent in the future.
